About Music Therapy
Music therapy is the clinical use of music to address individual goals and objectives within the context of a therapeutic relationship between a client and a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC). Music therapy can address a wide variety of clinical needs within the social, cognitive, emotional, motor, and communication domains. Music therapists work with clients, their families, and other providers to create a customized treatment plan based on clients’ strengths, needs, and interests. Music therapists help clients work toward their goals using music as the essential component of treatment.
